All of our balustrade systems comply with building regulations when fixed securely and used with the correct glass infills.

You can download the building regulations document here.

Please contact us prior to ordering if you are unsure what regulations apply to you.

On stairs, the balustrade should be 900mm from the edge of each step.

Stainless Steel

Our stainless steel is availabel in brushed satin or mirror polished finish.

Yes. Just make sure you have selected the correct grade of stainless steel when ordering.

  • For internal use, Grade 304 stainless steel is suitable
  • For external use, Grade 316 stainless steel is suitable

If you are localed within 10 miles of the coast, mirror polished stainless steel is recommended.

  • For coastal use, mirror polished or duplex 2205 stainless steel is suitable

A mirror polished finish on stainless steel is a highly reflective, smooth finish with a scratch free appearance, achieved through polishing the stainless steel.  A mirror finish can be achieved mechanically, using a progressive series of abrasives and polishing compounds.

Using a mirror polished finish stainless steel not only looks great, but is highly corrosion resistant.  This is due to the polishing procedure which removes deep scratches which can harbor dirt buildup and corrosive particles.

Mirror polished finish steel is particularly popular in coastal locations which can be exposed to salt air, public spaces or industrial environments that may be exposed to chemicals.

Stainless steel will need to be maintained. This will depend on the type of steel and the environment.
