POST AND RAIL, NORTHAMPTON

About the install

The balustrade on the balcony has been installed using a post-and-rail system with glass infills. Vertical posts have been fixed at intervals along the edge of the balcony and these posts are tied together by a continuous top rail that provides rigidity. Glass panels have then been clamped into place between the posts, sitting just below the top rail.  This type of system is more traditional and results in a framed appearance, as opposed to the clean, minimalist look of a frameless structural glass balustrade.
